The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

Fantastic excoriated mid-tempo black metal with a touch of hardcore in there (a bit like a black metal Born Against at times) with well-written doomy riffs and a suffocating despondency to the EP. Also well mixed, its still raw, but comes across live-sounding and clear. Cover is also rad brantly

The first time I heard this band was off their Heir of Ecliptical Romanticism, and I remember the riffs being the highlight of the album. This album is no different. The band just has a fuller sound with better production these days. Many of their tunes here remind me of early Satyricon. The classic heavy metal influences really make those riffs stick in your brain. Bart
